How It Works

1. Redirect your taxes: Give up to $1,700 per taxpayer—or $3,400 for married couples—to New Life Christian School through the Children’s Tuition Fund.
2. Scholarships are created: Your gift becomes scholarships for New Life Christian School students.
3. File your taxes: Claim the credit on your 2027 federal return.

Example: If you owe $5,000 in federal tax, a $1,700 EFTC credit reduces the amount owed to $3,300.

Credit Details

Credit amount: Up to $1,700 per taxpayer or $3,400 for married couples, dollar for dollar. No need to itemize.
A credit, not a deduction: It comes off tax owed, not income, so it has the same value in any tax bracket. Claim it on Form 1040.
Who can give: Any U.S. citizen or resident, in any state. Businesses cannot claim it but can tell employees.
Unused credit: The credit is non-refundable and creates no refund. Any excess carries forward up to five years.
Who receives scholarships: Scholarships are not earmarked for a specific student. Households under $340,000, or 300% of area median income, may qualify.
Who awards them: The Children’s Tuition Fund awards the scholarships, and New Life Christian School applies the award to the family’s tuition bill.
