What do you love about NLCS?

How friendly everyone is! There’s never a day when I feel like I don’t have friends around.

In what ways have you grown in your faith as a result of your experience at NLCS?

Because I’m around people who genuinely love one another, I’ve been trying to include that love for others in my own life. This has given me more opportunities to serve God. Also, I’ve learned to trust God when He pulls me outside of my normal environment and realize His constant presence in my life.

Think of a teacher who has/had a positive influence in your school experience and tell us how they challenged you or made learning enjoyable for you.

My math and science teacher, Mrs. Slabaugh, has definitely challenged me so far this year. Math has always been difficult, and she’s helped out so much in her class and is always encouraging her students by telling us that even if we don’t know or understand something yet, we will soon.

Describe the community at NLCS.

NLCS is like a family. Classes are small with plenty of one on one time              with the teachers. The students are genuinely nice to each other, and                I’ve built a lot of great relationships so far.

In what ways has NLCS challenged you in your studies, your faith and your character?

Before I came to NLCS this year, I was a very quiet and secluded person who never did anything outside of my comfort zone. Now, though, I’m opening myself up to new things, learning to trust God’s plan for me, and trying to do more to be a better friend to those who need one.

What are your goals for the future?

After high school, I hope to go to college to become a nurse. Until then, I want to work more at being a better disciple of Christ and share His love with others. NLCS is the perfect environment to pursue those goals!
